Animal Medical Center is a busy, privately owned 6-7 doctor small animal practice in Virginia Beach, VA looking for 2 full time associates.  Our practice has been in operation for over 40 years and we pride ourselves on practicing quality medicine to a very loyal clientele with a cohesive and enthusiastic team. 

Our practice offers:

• In house lab work (Full IDEXX suite)
• Dental radiographs (full mouth performed on every dental)
• Surgical and therapeutic laser
• Ultrasound
• Weekly visits by mobile internist
• Twice monthly visit by mobile cardiologist
• Wonderful support staff, including five (soon to be more!) skilled LVTs

We are lucky to have multiple emergency clinics and specialists within a 20 minute drive, which we utilize frequently. We pride ourselves on prioritizing work-life balance and take this very seriously. Our full time associates are scheduled for 32-35 hours a week and are encouraged to enjoy their time off and vacations.

Our practice is located within 5 minutes of the coast and a few of our doctors live a few steps from the beach or waterfront to enjoy the perks of this area. This is a great spot for outdoor activities including paddle boarding, biking, kayaking, and boating.  Competitive compensation package includes full coverage of health insurance (100% of a GREAT health insurance plan is covered for DVMs), 401k profit share (we contribute 3% of salary to 401k, no match required), license/DEA/AVMA/liability including license defense, 15 days PTO, CE stipend($2500), and more. 

A scheduled week includes 3 "appointment" days of 30-60 min appointments with 90 minutes blocked off for lunch and the last appointment 1 hour prior to clinic closing. Wellness visits are scheduled for 30-45 minutes, sick visits are scheduled for 45-60 minutes.  Most doctors do surgery one day a week, which involves being in surgery from 8am-4pm. Usually this means having 3-4 procedures scheduled (spays, neuters, growth removals, dentals). Surgery is NOT required- we do have a few doctors that do not perform surgery and that is just fine. We have fantastic LVTs that run surgery and are very experienced with anesthesia. Veterinarians are scheduled to work one out of three Saturdays, with appointments from 9am-12pm. 

We are a fun, laid back group that enjoys working together. We are looking for two more enthusiastic and efficient team members to complete our team. We are privately owned and planning to stay this way. 

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent
• Virginia veterinary license or the ability to attain one
• Team oriented attitude with stellar communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability (as we all know, veterinary medicine is a wild ride sometimes!)
• Willingness to continue learning and to work with colleagues to foster a collaborative environment
• Desire to provide practice high quality medicine in a cohesive environment
