- Associate Veterinarian
Description
We are searching for a motivated veterinarian to join our highly skilled team. Our ideal candidate would be comfortable and proficient in surgery (spays, neuters, mass removals, cystotomies, exploratories) and also working up minor illness and more complicated medicine cases. We have a board certified internal medicine specialist come on site for diagnostic ultrasounds and consultations. In addition we have a skilled surgeon come on site for orthopedic surgeries and other more advanced soft tissue surgeries. We encourage a culture of collaboration and work together on our cases daily.
DVMs work 4 weekdays (8-5) and rotating Saturdays (8-12). DVMs typically work 1 Saturday shift per month. Appointments are 30 minutes with add on urgent care and ER visits which are split up amongst the team. Two hours are blocked (12-2) for lunch/call-backs/record-keeping. Staff leaves on time daily.
Pay is Pro-Sal. Base salary starting at 120,000 (higher for more experienced DVMs) annually with potential to produce 180,000.

- Digital radiography, digital dental radiography (full mouth radiographs is standard of care for all dentals), full in house IDEXX lab including sedivue urine analyzer, COMPANION animal laser, butterfly IQ ultrasound.

Requirements
- Doctorate in veterinary medicine, licensed in Florida.
- Excellent medical and surgical skills.
- Ability to provide emergency care.
- Excellent communication skills with both staff and clients.
- Ability to recognize that teamwork is essential for quality practice; ability to work as a team member as well as a doctor.
- Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to properly restrain patients.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- A commitment to outstanding client service.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stay on task and work energetically for the entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day.
- Ability to maintain clear accurate records and to charge clients for all products and service rendered.
- Knowledgeable regarding related federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and DEA. Ensure that the hospital and its employees are in compliance with regulations. Inform the veterinary hospital administrator of any regulatory issues.
- Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy.

- Occasionally handle dogs weighing up to and over 150 lbs. Assistance will be provided when working with larger animals.
