Description
The Clinical Veterinarian (CV) will perform pre-shipment surgery. Tasks include basic knowledge of aseptic technique, tissue handling, and suturing skills. Minimal cleanup (wiping down surfaces, cleaning and autoclaving instruments, sweeping and mopping) may be required. The CV reports to the Director of Veterinary Care.
Essential Tasks:
Surgery: Perform pre-shipment spays, castrations, and anal gland sacculectomies (descenting) in ferrets.
Requirements
Education: DVM
Competency Requirements: Individual will possess good organizational skills. Individual will be capable of working independently and will be required to effectively and consistently perform above listed Essential Tasks.
Work Conditions: Duties are performed primarily on 1st shift with varying extended hours.
Physical Requirement: Sitting or standing at a surgical station.
This is a part time position, 4-29 hours per week.
Flexible hours between 5am - 330pm, Monday - Friday.
Salary: Starting at $75/hour commensurate with experience
