Are you an experienced manager who can organize a team and ensure that everything gets done?
Do you hate when people cut corners that lead to mistakes or problems for others?
If so, then we may have the job you’ve been looking for. Please read on.
Southeast Veterinary Neurology is well on it’s way to becoming Florida's leader in veterinary neurology, neurosurgery and advanced imaging. We accomplish this by providing compassionate, thorough and thoughtful medical care for our patients (and their owners)… but a huge part of our business is offering an outstanding level of communication and care to our referring veterinarians.
This approach has been very successful for us and we have steadily grown over the past 8 years to be a trusted name in referral practice in South Florida. (We were recently named to the UF Gator 100 -- the list of the fastest growing Gator-led companies in the world and were a finalist in the South Florida Chamber of Commerce "Good to Great" Awards.)
Our team is tight-knit, highly skilled, motivated and professional. We value them and work hard to create an environment where they can thrive.
Now, we are seeking a like-minded Practice Manager to help us run the practice smoothly as we continue to grow.
You’ll be the sort of person who thrives in a busy workplace managing multiple priorities. You won’t however be “Captain Chaos”, because in a fast-paced healthcare environment, that’s bad news.
Instead, you’ll be able to create systems and processes that allow the routine or urgent tasks to get done without fail, allowing you the space to deal with the non-routine or important tasks that make the biggest difference to how we all function as a team.
As this is not a starter role, you must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years experience as a practice manager. Preference will be given to candidates with a business degree, CVPM designation and/or experience in a specialty practice.
You will be proficient with practice management software and Excel, Word and PowerPoint. We are Apple nerds so you’ll have to be OK using Macs. (Sorry Bill.)
About The Role
OK, so let’s get to the detail of the role. At SEVN what we do here is important and makes a real difference to animal’s lives. You will be working with the Chief Operating Officer and Owner to make sure the business continues to grow and prosper. The job involves solving problems and establishing procedures for the operation of this hospital. You will assure we operate within all legal guidelines such as OSHA and DEA.
You’ll assist in creating and updating the SEVN strategic growth plan and budget, including goals and tactics. You will monitor KPI’s and report on deviations with a plan to correct. You will make recommendations on projects to be initiated to improve revenue or reduce costs.
You will recruit and onboard new employees and work with Department Leads to make sure all staff have a performance plan with goals. You will make sure the daily checklists and reconciliation of the practice management system is completed without error.
Working with the Marketing Manager you will assist in creating and following a marketing plan focused on referral sources and future clients. You will build on existing strategies and participate in marketing activities such as hospital visits, community events, and Neurologist lectures.
General management duties include maintaining a comprehensive Operating Procedures Manual and audit to assure it is being followed. You will ensure effective and efficient workflow through proper employee scheduling, training and performance monitoring. You will hold weekly meetings with your department leads and participate in the planning and execution of a monthly all-staff meeting.
Don't worry; you won’t be trapped in an office. We encourage you to roam the hospital, work along side everyone, and be available to meet our Clients, pet some dogs, and solicit feedback on how we are doing.
The Practice Manager will generally work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Because SEVN is a 24-hour, 7-day facility, needs will dictate that the Practice Manager be able to come in at irregular hours to deal with employee, client, or facility business from time to time. Occasionally, the Practice Manager would want to monitor how employees perform on the weekend and to take part in evening lectures and weekend marketing events.
Salary offered for this position is in a range up to $80,000 depending on experience. 2. Health insurance with a company contribution, along with dental and vision insurance. 3. 401(k) program with a company match. 4. Annual continuing education allowance.
Holiday and Paid Time Off.
