We are looking to add an energetic, caring doctor to our 5.5 doctor multiple location small animal practices! Our patients are mostly dogs and cats, but we do a small number of exotics also. Our practices are well-equipped, and we are well staffed. We value teamwork, good communication, and collaboration.
Some of our diagnostic equipment includes:
Mi-Eye Needle Arthroscopy
PRP and Stem Cell
In House Idexx lab
Ultima 500 Dental Machine
We highly value preventative care. We have health plans to help our clients give their pets the care they need to help keep them healthy. We love educating our clients, and our clients and doctors have great relationships.
We perform many surgical procedures beyond spays and neuters (fracture repairs, ocular procedures, FHOs, suture CCL repairs in small patients, Perineal Hernia Repairs, and more), and if you are interested, we are willing to teach you. Our goal is to grow as veterinary practitioners while providing excellent care; and we achieve it by supporting one another on cases and working as a team to provide the best care to our patients.
We have electronic records currently, but we are working to improve them by making them easily accessible from your home as well as the clinic. We always strive to be ahead of the curve by using technology to our advantage to serve our clients and make our jobs a little easier.
Work/Life Balance is important to us, and we are looking for someone who shares our philosophy of good medicine, good client communication, and good self care. Our profession is a wonderful career. We work hard to keep it fun and fresh!
Vacation time can be spent in the surrounding mountains; historical northern VA or Washington, DC; or beaches - all available as a day trip. Hiking, canoeing, rafting, and other outdoor sports are readily available within a day. Shopping, site-seeing, and fine dining are easily found as well. You can enjoy being near the city while not suffering through the traffic of living in one.
We also believe in serving our community by mentoring LVT and DVM students and working with a local shelter to support our community.
Benefits we offer:
Generous CE Allowance
Competitive Salary (based on experience)
Focused and Individualized Mentoring
Tuition Repayment Assistance

About Compassion Animal Hospital
Compassion Animal Hospital has been established for over 30 years in rural Fauquier County, VA. We enjoy providing veterinary care for mostly dogs and cats, but see the occasional pocket pet, rabbit, and chicken as well. We have many diagnostic tools to help us with their care (digital radiography, ultrasound, small endoscopes, Mi-Eye arthroscope, and In-House Idexx Lab for example). Our goal is to develop excellent practitioners and to support one another as we strive to help those animals and clients who come our way. We support our community with career days and sponsorship of events as well as encouraging the next generation of veterinarians with volunteers and "shadowing" students. We value quality of life and work/life balance. Veterinary medicine is a challenging career, and it is important to "get away" to refresh and renew in order to be more sharp and compassionate when working. Our standards are high, but growing professionally and personally is rewarding.
