REQUIREMENTS
Job candidate must:
be a graduate from an accredited college of veterinary medicine.
be licensed or have reciprocity to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, by the US DEA to prescribe and dispense controlled substances.
have a desire to practice small animal medicine. (If you are tired of working cattle in the heat, late night colic calls, or delivering calves in below freezing temperatures, you will feel at home here. The owners have the same background and appreciate the art of large animal medicine, but enjoy the small animal practice).
be proficient in small animal general medicine diagnosis and treatment, general small animal surgery, and interpretation of radiographs. (If not proficient in ultrasonography, a willingness to become so is highly desirable.)
have the ability to interact with clients and relay health care information to them. The client must feel they have received an exceptional level of care.
be willing to relocate. (If not currently living in the North Texas region – Haslet is in northwest Tarrant County, which is now on the outskirts of Fort Worth, Texas.)
have a commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and uphold the veterinary code of ethics
