Especially Cats Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Veterinarian/Medical Director! Especially Cats is a patient-driven hospital with only one thing on our minds, EXCEPTIONAL feline medicine! Our feline exclusive hospital is passionate not only for patients but client experience as well, our patients are family here. We offer general wellness care, urgent & emergency care, a full in-house laboratory with both Heska & Idexx machines, medical grooming, dentistry, digital radiographs including dental, pain management, behavioral management and so much more. Especially Cats Hospital is located in sunny San Francisco, California. Just a short walk to one of the local beaches or delicious local eateries. San Francisco has tons to offer from historic landmarks, urban hiking, every flavor of food imaginable, fisherman's wharf, or maybe non-city is your thing. Well, we have that covered with a short drive; Napa wine country is 2 hours away and beautiful Tahoe is 4 hours from us with hiking & biking trails and wonderful winter activities. We are looking for a passionate veterinarian to join and lead our team with positive team culture and collaboration with our Practice Manager. Someone who loves mentoring, professional development, building positive relationships within our community and clients, a constant state of learning is second nature along with exceptional communication skills. Medical: - Possess a commitment to practicing excellent patient care.
- Understand and apply the importance of the client experience.
- Have proficient skill in medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
- Ability to teach, mentor and develop veterinarians at all performance levels.
- Keep current on new products and medical protocols.
- Ability to maintain accurate electronic medical records and regularly audit those of other doctors.
- Coordinate and disseminate Continuing Education for the doctor and medical team.
Operational: - Assist Practice Manager with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring veterinarians.
- Involvement in budgetary decisions regarding inventory, products, and staff labor.
- Comfort with coaching, issuing performance improvement plans, and disciplinary action.
- Partner with Regional Operations team and support initiatives and policies.
- Maintain schedules for doctor team and assist leads with their team schedules if needed.
- Organize and lead regular meetings for the doctor team.
- Attend and take part in all operational meetings and workshops (some travel required).
- Adhere to Alpine's values and coach other team members to do so.
- Perform and deliver regular performance evaluations for doctors and the leadership team.

VIP Program: Veterinary Incentive Plan The industry-first program called the Veterinarian Incentive Plan allows current doctors and those who become a part of the Pathway team to elect to participate in the new bonus structure, which is based on tenure and company performance. General practice veterinarians can earn up to $225,000, One-third of the total VIP award is based on each doctor's tenure and the other two-thirds is based on company performance. The program is eligible for current and new doctors who provide veterinary care at Pathway veterinary hospital locations. This includes both part-time and full-time doctors.
