Hometown Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic is looking to hire a Managing Veterinarian to help lead our practice!
Hometown Animal Hospital is a hybrid dental referral and general practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, holistic, and dental care. Our Clinic was founded in 2000 by Dr. Jan Bellows, a board-certified dental specialist. Currently Hometown is a 2-doctor practice. Since completing her dental residency, Dr. Elizabeth McMorran provides advanced dentistry care for our referred patients. Dr. Gavin Casper general a wellness care as well as holistic care for our general practice patients. Drs. McMorran and Casper have been with Hometown for 11 years and 3 years, respectively.
Each day we strive to deliver outstanding patient care by providing the highest standard of veterinary medicine, employing dedicated staff, and offering outstanding customer service. Hometown is certified with AHAA as both a referral practice and a general practice. Dedicated to the patient experience, Hometown is currently working towards becoming a Fear Free practice. Oversee surgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate estimates, client communication and education.
Answer client questions and concerns regarding procedures.
Collaborate with HM to address and resolve client issues.
Provide oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventory.
Establish medical protocols.
Oversee transfer of medical cases from doctor to doctor.
Minimizes waste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventories.
Leading Staff and Practice
Participate in recruiting and interviewing process for doctors and laystaff.
Passionate about mentoring associates.
Monitor doctor performance and production.
Hold doctor team accountable and develop performance improvement plans when needed.
Collaborate with HM and administer performance evaluations for doctors.
Participates in technician performance evaluations and medical counseling sessions.
Ensure all medical staff receive applicable training.
Supports the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensure.
Participates in all doctor and staff meetings.
Financial Responsibilities
Drive revenues and contribute to hospital growth and manage hospital expenses.
Assist in the preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget, and capital budget.
Monitors key financial reports.
Drives patient visits and spearheads community involvement.
Act as a champion for change and support interests within the hospital.
Monitor’s client service, marketing, and growth initiatives.
