Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group has an opening for a Surgical Veterinary Technician for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, 401K, and annual performance reviews. The Kelly OCG team that supports Education, Research, Vivarium operations includes about 13-15 team members.
Pay $23.00 an hour with some flexibility
Provide veterinary technical assistance in preparing for and conducting acute (non-survival) and inanimate (including cadaver) labs Provide veterinary technical assistance in preparing for and conducting survival, non-survival (acute), and inanimate (including cadaver) labs in Preclinical Research. Administer and maintain anesthesia to ensure humane animal care and use at all times. Ensure that lab areas, including surgical stations and surgical support areas, are set-up and supplied with appropriate instrumentation and equipment. Ensure that lab areas, including surgical stations and surgical support areas, are restored to proper order at the conclusion of labs. This may include appropriate disposal of single-use items, putting away lab equipment, and washing reusable instrumentation. Adherence to education protocol guidelines for acute lab procedures. Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures. Maintain inventory of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures. Quality-check (QC) appropriate documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures. Participate in required annual health surveillance program (including the completion of blood-borne pathogen training). Complete appropriate cross-training for education and Vivarium specific duties as necessary. Accept schedule assignments from Master Scheduler. Participate in weekend and holiday treatment coverage on a rotational basis
Requirements Must be a registered veterinary technician
Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology required
Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs without assistance This role requires COVID-19 vaccination, or approved accommodation and ongoing negative test results upon hire
