New River Veterinary Specialists is a brand new, rapidly growing 24/7 specialty and emergency veterinary hospital located in beautiful Hardeeville, SC. We are looking for a passionate and caring Practice Manager (CVPM or CVPM eligible) to join our leadership team.
Our privately owned facility is located 30 miles from historic Savannah, GA and 20 minutes from the beaches of Hilton Head Island, SC. The Bluffton, SC area is family friendly with a walkable downtown, frequent festivals and outdoor events, access to beautiful coastal waterways for boating and fishing, and close access to the historic Savannah, GA waterfront or Hilton Head Island, a top vacation destination. New River is a state of the art, 15,000 sq. ft. hospital equipped with the advanced technology you'd expect from a custom built state-of-the-art facility. Including a full in-house lab, 16-slice helical CT, 8-tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology suite, multiple ultrasounds, in house blood bank and component therapy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, full service sports medicine and rehabilitation department, and a dedicated intensive care unit including long-term mechanical ventilation.
The NRVS team currently includes 2 Internists, 3 Criticalists, 2 Surgeons (1 also Certified in Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine), 1 Neurologist, 1 part time Anesthesiologist, 11 Emergency doctors, a VTS-ECC and an amazing team of technicians, assistants and CSR’s.
Job Description:
The Practice Manager role will promote a collaborative work environment by leading with a positive attitude and by being a professional role model for all support staff. The position will work closely with our Medical Director, Clinical Practice Manager and departmental leaders to develop and implement practice policies. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills. Problem solving and effective decision-making skills are a must. These skill sets will provide the necessary tools to effectively manage daily operations of the hospital.

Job Responsibilities & Primary Functions include but are not limited to:
Building and maintaining positive relationships with team members to cultivate a positive hospital culture
Develop and oversee staff training protocols to ensure maximum staff efficiency
Staff development through performance reviews; corrective action plans and PIP's
Ability to perform active listening to resolve employee complaints and/or concerns through effective communication and fair decision making abilities
Recruitment, hiring and onboarding staff members based on hospital demands. Assuring new hires add to the culture of the hospital as well as terminate employment when appropriate
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures and medications/supplies
Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage to fit the demand of the hospital
Maintain positive client and patient interactions through effective training, strong communication skills; along with an understanding of hospital policies and procedures
Ability to resolve client concerns in a timely manner through effective communication
Management of inventory systems to assure departments are adequately stocked. Knowledge of inventory procurement and price shopping strategies. Processing of returns. Managing vendor relationships. Informing staff of backorders or delays in receiving supplies and/or medications
Assisting in development and implementing hospital policies and procedures along side the entire leadership team
Processing payroll in a timely manner
