Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty (DCES), is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at our hospital.

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program
The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.
The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.
Program Duration/Commitment
· 6-month training program beginning January or June/ July 2025
· 1-year commitment as an ER clinician at DCES following training

Program Highlights
- Varied schedule with 3- to 4-day work weeks, rotating through day, swing, and overnight
- Rotate with other specialty services (IM, Neurology, Oncology, Radiology, and Surgery) during the training program
- Additional surgical training offered, if desired
- Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts
- No on-call
- Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
- Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
- Salary of $135,000 during the mentorship period, with the greater of $135,000 or 21% production following mentorship (Total earning potential range from $135,000 to $225,000 annually following training period).
