Smith Animal Hospital, P.A. has been serving the Spartanburg, SC area for almost 80 years. From 1946, serving as one of the few hospitals in area, to 2022 when we built a much larger facility to address our growing clientele, Smith Animal Hospital continues to be among the best in companion animal care.

We are an independently owned and operated small animal veterinary practice (a rarity these days), meaning everyone has access to all resources and a say-so in how we operate.

Our practice is highly recommended by locals for our exceptional pet services. Our hospital is praised for our caring and sensitive approach, treating pets as cherished family members. And we are particularly commended for our end-of-life care.

Our hospital includes six exam rooms, a surgery area, diagnostic rooms, in-house lab and on-site pharmacy.

We are led by three doctors who bring three generations of experience to how we operate and support staff of technicians, assistants and front office that keeps us going.

Located in beautiful Spartanburg, SC, one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas, our clinics offer access to vibrant dining, retail, recreation, and entertainment options. Situated near the mountains and coast, our city is the perfect blend of urban excitement and outdoor adventure.

Company History

What started as mostly large bovine, eventually turned into focusing on small animal general medicine. We have customers that have been with us for several DECADES that we've come to know on a first name basis. We are walk-in only and take pride in being able to handle the high demand of caseloads we see each day! In 2022, we built a brand new hospital, with the latest equipment and technology needed, across the street from our old facility to handle our growing demand!
