South Rhea Animal hospital was founded in 1995 and has maintained it's private ownership ever since. For nearly 30 years, we've built trusted relationships with generations of pet owners who value our compassionate, personalized approach to veterinary medicine. Our clinic is large enough to provide modern, high-quality medicine and surgery, et small enough to maintain a family-like culture where staff and clients feel valued. Our sister hospital Coops Creek Veterinary Clinic was established in 2020, but began operations in 2024. Coops Creek is at the beginnings of building strong community relationships. While a smaller clinic, it offers the same best medicine and values in a rural setting.

Our services include preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and urgent care. We also take pride in community involvement from supporting local rescues to hosting educational events and adoption opportunities. We see a variety or species from dogs, cats to small mammals and reptiles. We also see farm animals. If it can fit in the door we can see it.

At South Rhea Animal Hospital we believe in quality medicine with a personal touch, long-term client and pet relationships, supporting and mentoring veterinary professionals, and a work-life balance and collaborative culture. We are more than a clinic but a team of passionate animal lovers dedicated to making a difference each day.

Company History

Founded in 1995 by a group of local doctors, South Rhea Animal Hospital has been serving the rural community ever since. It has only changed hands to new ownership once and has many staff have been here for many years from the 90's until now. We have remained privately owned and locally focused building long term client and staff relationships.
