Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant

Celina Pet Clinic & Surgical Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are a locally owned, full-service small animal hospital providing wellness care, advanced surgery, dentistry, urgent care, and same-day appointments in a modern, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Safely handle and care for canine and feline patients
• Collect laboratory samples, perform diagnostics, and administer medications
• Place IV catheters, monitor anesthesia, and assist with patient recovery (experience dependent)
• Communicate professionally with clients and provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain accurate medical records and support a clean, organized hospital

Qualifications

• Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude with a commitment to compassionate patient care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant or veterinary technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to safely restrain dogs and cats of all sizes
• Strong communication and client service skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to maintain accurate medical records
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technology
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including occasional Saturdays
• Certified Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) encouraged but not required
